AKFC, Soccer Kerala win big

AVC, DBO, Skynet, GFC draw

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 26: After a gap of one week due to uncertain climatic conditions, KIFF League matches started on yet another wet and rainy day.

In the first match, AVC were held to a draw by Don Bosco Oratory in a must-win match for both the teams.

AVC took the lead with three minutes to go for the final whistle through Kotak. However, within a minute DBO equalized through Gilbert.

The match ended 1-1. Ruming Povlose of AVC was awarded the Man of the Match, presented by president of AVC, Xavier Furtado.

In the second match, hot favourites and defending champions All Kerala Football Club defeated IFSC with a margin of 4-1.

AKFC played like champions giving no space to the opponents to take control of the match. Fazil and Shanavas scored one each while Haris scored two for AKFC. Jaspreet reduced the margin, duly scoring for IFSC. Shanavas of AKFC was awarded the Man of the Match, presented by ex-KIFF member, Mario Carneiro.

In the third match, Group B leaders Skynet Miracles were held to a goalless draw by Goa Football Club.

Goalkeeper Custodio of GFC was excellent under the bar. It was his heroics that kept the score board nil.

Skynet Miracles, on the other hand, had to blame no one but themselves as their strikers kept missing the target time after time.

Custodio of GFC was awarded the Man of the Match, presented by president of Soccer Kerala and VP of KEFAK, Biju.

Shifa Al Jazeera-sponsored Soccer Kerala had to win and did so by defeating Pen Friends United with a score of 5-1 in the last match of the day.

Pen Friends scored first through Jasim. The goal motivated Soccer Kerala players, who took control of the match and went on scoring at ease. Benoj, Ismail, Vaseem and Mohammed (2) scored for Soccer Kerala. Mohammed of Soccer Kerala was awarded the Man of the Match, presented by former Junior India international, Avelino Dias.

The Kuwait Indian Football Federation League is sponsored by Gulf Cable & Electrical Industries Co.
