Airport staffer arrested for helping banned Egyptian leave

KUWAIT CITY, March 1: Police have arrested an unidentified employee of the Kuwaiti International Airport for helping an Egyptian to leave and enter the country although the man carries a travel ban, reports Al-Rai daily.

The arrest came after the Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passports Affairs Major-General Mazen Al-Jarrah received information from a confidential that the Egyptian who is wanted by law in connection with a criminal offence had left and returned the country through the airport.

After the Egyptian Interpol was contacted the man’s arrive in February 2015 was confirmed and so also the departure after a two-month stay. Further investigations revealed the departure and arrival has not been entered in the computer. When the Egyptian was arrested, he led police to the employee who helped him. Both men have been referred to the Public Prosecution.

Hoax-caller sought: The Ahmadi police are looking for a Kuwaiti for making a hoax call and disturbing police, reports Al-Rai daily. According to a security the man called the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry and said there were explosives inside a home in Al-Zahr and gave police the address. When police raided the house, they did not find any explosives
