KUWAIT CITY, Feb 14: Aggression against doctors continues in Kuwait, with the most recent case occurring in Sheikh Badriya Al-Ahmed Medical Oncology and Stem Cell Therapy Center where a citizen assaulted a doctor.

The incident led to a huge chaos such that securitymen had to be notified to settle the mess. Ministry of Health, represented by Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs Dr Mahmoud Abdulhadi condemned the incident, affirming that the ministry will take necessary legal action against the citizen.

In a press release, Dr Abdulhadi stressed the keenness of the ministry to offer best services to patients. “However, such services cannot be offered in an atmosphere where doctors are not safe”, he added. He also stressed the keenness of the ministry to uphold the rights of doctors. Meanwhile, Head of Kuwait Medical Society Dr Mohammad Al-Mutairi also condemned the incident, indicating that the series of aggression against doctors is due to lack of legal protection offered by Ministry of Health. He said he wondered until when such aggression will continue and what measures the ministry will adopt to bring an end to it.
