Violations range between 100 to 200 per day

KUWAIT CITY, March 28: Acting Director of Security and Safety Department at Kuwait University Youssef Al-Khamis stated that Kuwait University is keen to cooperate and coordinate with the concerned authorities in the country to implement traffic rules on campus in a way that guarantees security and safety and creates a safe educational environment for Kuwait University affiliates, including faculty, staff and students, reports Al-Anba daily. He pointed out that it was noticed recently that some personnel at Sabah Al-Salem University City did not adhere to traffic rules and regulations, which threatens the safety of vehicle drivers and passers-by, pointing to the increase in the number of violations, which range between 100 and 200 per day, which resulted in the occurrence of many unfortunate traffic accidents due to several reasons, the most important of which is noncompliance with red traffic lights, exceeding the speed limit, and wrong overtaking between vehicles.

Al-Khamis stated that the Security and Safety Department spared no effort to take all measures to regulate traffic and implement traffic rules and systems on campus, the most prominent of which was addressing the General Traffic Department at the Ministry of Interior and submitting and presenting some proposals and putting them into practice to achieve more traffic discipline inside the site.
