A bulldozer is bringing down the encroachments on government property

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 25: The Municipality continues its campaign to “clean up” Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Al-Hasawi areas, and about 90 percent of the shops in Muhammad Bin Al-Qasim Street have been closed.

In his role, Deputy Director General of the Municipal Affairs in Farwaniya and Mubarak Al-Kabir Governorates Ammar Al-Ammar stated the campaign witnessed the closure of shops and removal of illegally erected shades, in addition to cutting power supply to shops violating the law.

Al-Ammar noted the Director General of Municipality and chairperson of the committee in charge of affairs in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Engineer Ahmed Al-Manfouhi, had set a three-month period to change the face of Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh by 70 percent.

She explained the main violations committed against the municipality include shops opened without licenses, using licensed plots for other purposes, and infringements on state property. Director of the Department of Hygiene and Road Works Saad Al-Kharj said the number of violations keeps increasing, whereas 263 shops have been closed since the start of the campaign.
