African woman attempts to smuggle marijuana

KUWAIT CITY, March 23: Assistant Undersecretary for Operations at the Interior Ministry, Major-General Jamal Al-Sayegh has referred an African woman to the General Department for Drugs Control for attempting to smuggle marijuana in to the country, reports Al-Anba daily.

A security source said a police patrol on routine duty suspected the woman who was carrying a bag on her back and approached her to check her civil ID. The woman took to her heels and hid under the staircase of a building. She was chased and arrested by the police. When the bag was seized from her police found nine kilos of marijuana. She has been referred for intensive interrogation given the big quantity of drugs. Policemen who arrested the woman have been honored by Al- Sayegh, says the daily.
