KUWAIT CITY, May 4: The attorney of an unidentified construction company has filed a complaint with the Al-Zour Police Station, accusing eight people — seven Egyptians and an Indian — of betrayal of trust, reports Al-Anba daily. According to the complainant the eight men have stolen from the company’s factory cement mixing vehicles worth KD 616,994. The lawyer said the theft was discovered during the annual stocktaking exercise.The suspects are identified as Egyptians M.A. born in 1974; A.G. born in 1962; A.A.K. born in 1979 and his brother A.A.K born in 1981; T.K.M. born in 1965; M.A.F. born in 1980; A.J.S. born in 1989; and the Indian A.J.S. born in 1967.Meanwhile, a GCC woman filed a complaint at Zahra Police Station against two housemaids working in her house in South Surra as they allegedly stole handbags and some other personal belongings worth KD 3,000. A thorough investigation followed leading to the arrest of the two housemaids who escaped from their sponsor’s home.Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti woman told securitymen that a domestic labor office swindled her as she paid KD 100 deposit for the recruitment of a housemaid. When she contacted the owner of the labor office, the mobile phone was switched off. A case was registered at Adan Police Station and investigations are ongoing to arrest the culprit. Also, a Kuwait woman lodged a complaint at Abdally Police Station as electric cables worth thousands of Kuwaiti dinars were allegedly stolen from her farm. Investigations are underway to arrest the thief.88 liquor bottles seized: Police have arrested an unidentified Asian for bootlegging and seized from his car 88 bottles of booze ready for sale, reports Al-Shahed daily. The arrest came during routine patrolling at an unidentified location. Police saw the suspect busy doing something in the trunk of the car and when they approached the man, he left behind everything and escaped on foot. Policemen, arrested him and handed and the booze to the General Department for Drugs and Alcohol Control. During investigation, he admitted to selling booze for his survival.2 held for cable theft: The Highway Police patrols have arrested two people, a Kuwaiti, in his 50s and a 30-year-old Iranian for stealing power cables from a power transformer from a school located in the Khairan housing area, reports Al-Rai daily. The arrest came after an unidentified Kuwaiti saw the men at work and called the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior. When police rushed to the spot, the suspect reportedly escaped from the area leaving behind their tools and two gas cylinders. However, the Kuwaiti noted the car plate number and informed the police. The information of the car was relayed to all police patrols and the suspects were subsequently arrested in Mina Abdullah while attempting to escape.
