7 Kuwait judges jailed for taking bribes, one acquitted

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 29: The Court of Appeals, headed by Counselor Abdul Rahman Al-Darami, in the so-called ‘bribery of judges’ sentenced 7 judges to jail terms ranging between 7 and 15 years, dismissal from office and the confiscation of vehicles they had received as gifts, while acquitting one judge, reports Al-Rai daily. The court also sentenced others to various periods of imprisonment, some of whom are employees, and ordered their dismissal from office, and the imprisonment of businessmen, while acquitting a number of the accuse
