KUWAIT CITY, Jan 16: The first version of Kuwait Arabian Horse Beauty Championships concluded with honoring the breeders of the purebred horses. The six competitions of the four-day event, hosted by Bait Al-Arab track, of the Arabian Horse Center, gathered 450 horses from various domestic stud farms. BHN Ghanayem, bred by Bader Al-Mehlan, won the most beautiful female horse award for the category of less than one year of age. Qais Al-Motasawer, of Faleh Al-Qahtani, won the most beautiful male horse award for the same age category.

In the 2-3 year age category, Layali Al-Aliyat, of Abdullah Al-Obaid won the female horse award, while Rafe’ Al- Rayat, of Abdullah Al-Khaledi won the male horse award. In the four+ year age category, Manifa Al-Hamad, of Al-Hamad stud farm, won the female horse award, while D Ar’ad, of Asayel farm, won the male horse award. Speaking to KUNA after the award ceremony, Mishal Al-Mesbah, director of the championships, said the event showed a great deal of care by the Kuwaiti breeder for their purebred horses. “The championships gain additional significance from the fact that they raised the competitive edge of the participating horse and qualified them for future international events,” Al- Mesbah pointed out. The event was held under the patronage of the European Conference of Arab Horse Organizations (ECAHO), he added, expressing gratitude for the national sponsors of the event. (KUNA)
