KUWAIT CITY, April 20: Minister of Information and Culture Dr Hamad Rouh Al-Din issued a directive to refer for retirement all employees who reached the specified period of service to retire in accordance with Article 76 of the Civil Service Law, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources. Sources disclosed that 54 employees were referred for retirement, indicating the minister’s decision is aimed at empowering young people
. Since taking over the ministerial portfolio, Al-Din issued several decisions, such as referring some agents for retirement and reshuffling directors to pump fresh blood into the ministry in a bid to give young employees a chance to prove their leadership abilities, sources explained. Sources added the minister is keen on modernizing the media system in line with global standards to realize the aspiration of Kuwaitis to have an advanced media.
