50 beggars and hawkers nabbed, will be deported, say authorities

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 6: Officers from the General Department for Residency Security arrested 50 beggars and hawkers during a security campaign that they launched in all six governorate. According to sources, these beggars were arrested from commercial complexes and in front of mosques.

They were caught begging under the claim of suffering from diseases and having no money for treatment. They have been referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action followed by deportation.

The sources affirmed that securitymen will continue to pursue violators of the country’s laws under the guidance and instructions of Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Essam Al-Naham.
