KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3: The Court of Appeals upheld the verdict issued by the Court of First Instance which decided to acquit five individuals who were accused of possessing hashish with the intention of trafficking and consuming them.

According to the case file, the arresting officer obtained a search and arrest warrant from the Public Prosecution which was issued on the same day after necessary arguments were provided that warrant the arrest and search of the suspects.

The officer managed to arrest all five suspects but from different locations. Upon searching their residences, they were found to possess various quantities of hashish.

Representing the defendants was Lawyer Ali Al-Wawan who said the arrest and search procedures should be considered invalid due to the faulty procedures taken during investigations which led to issuance of arrest and search warrant.

Based on the arguments that he presented at the court, Lawyer Al-Wawan pleaded the court to acquit his clients.
