KUWAIT CITY, Aug 27: Five Filipina domestic workers, who were reported as absconding, were arrested while they were shopping in a commercial complex in Khaitan area, reports Al-Rai daily. According to a security source, the fi ve absconding friends were referred to the concerned authorities in preparation for their deportation.

2 wanted citizens held: Two Kuwaiti citizens were arrested in Mahboula area on Wednesday as they are wanted by law to serve jail terms, reports Al-Anba daily. According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen were patrolling Mahboula area when they suspected two individuals, stopped them to check their details and discovered they are Kuwaitis. They also discovered that one of them is wanted by law for serving a jail term of 20 months while the other is wanted for a criminal case and has been sentenced to six months in prison. Both suspects were referred to the concerned authorities.

Citizen’s vehicle stolen: An unknown individual stole the vehicle of a Kuwaiti citizen when the latter left the engine running at the parking area of Jahra Hospital and went to the hospital, reports Al-Rai daily. He registered a case of stolen car at Jahra Police Station, explaining to securitymen that he thought his transaction will take only few minutes. When he fi nished his transaction, he was astonished to fi nd his car missing. Investigations have been launched to fi nd the stolen car.

Sorcerer arrested: A GCC national was arrested for practicing black magic and sorcery, reports Al-Shahed daily. Securitymen of the northern border arrested the suspect from a restricted area. When questioned, he said he was there to watch the lunar eclipse because he wanted to carry out black magic on behalf of a Kuwaiti businesswoman who had paid him KD 5,000. The suspect was referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal actions.
