‘42% development projects completed’

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 22: Around 42 percent of projects included in the development plan for fiscal 2019/2020 have been completed as at the end of January, reports Annahar daily quoting sources.

Sources disclosed the plan includes 145 projects with the participation of 44 authorities. According to official data, eight projects will be handed over soon, 27 are in the implementation phase, 51 projects are in the preparation stage and four have yet to start.

Sources disclosed fiscal 2019/2020 is the last year of the second development plan that began in 2015/2016, which will be followed by the third development plan which will begin in April 2020 and continue until 2025. Sources said the amount spent on projects reached KD1.410 billion out of KD3.318 billion allocated for projects annually.

Sources added 70 percent of projects in the plan for 2018/2019 were completed at a total cost of KD 2.702 billion.
