Bran is said to be the byproduct of wheat

KUWAIT CITY, June 22: The Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company has sent a letter to Mohsen Al- Mutairi, Deputy Director General of the Livestock Affairs sector the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR), regarding the current bran allocations in light of the internal changes, which resulted in a decrease in the flour sales, which is mainly related to the production of bran products, reports Al-Qabas daily. It has been reported the PAAAFR will be providing the mills company 4,000 tons of bran instead of the 6,750 which is not good enough.

The company said bran is the byproduct of wheat, which makes the production of bran directly related to the production capacity of the flour, and not a product ready for packaging and delivery, and therefore its production depends on market conditions and the sales volume of flour. The sources indicated that the company spoke of its inability to continue to cover the current required quantities of bran, starting from July and until further notice will affect the market.
