33 cars seized in crackdown on ‘drifters’

KUWAIT CITY, May 20: Staff Security campaigns launched by officers from the Public Security sector in Jahra and Ahmadi governorates resulted in the issuance of 263 citations, arrest of 33 reckless drivers and confiscation of their vehicles.
According to security sources, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs at Ministry of Interior Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah ordered the formation of security teams to launch sudden campaigns in Ahmadi and Jahra governorates in residential and desert areas.
The teams issued 150 traffic citations in Ahmadi Governorate and 113 citations in Jahra Governorate. They seized 33 vehicles which were driven recklessly and detained their owners in traffic custody for necessary legal action.
The sources affirmed that such campaigns will continue in all governorates for arresting violators of law and reckless drivers based on orders of Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah.
