KUWAIT CITY, Aug 15: The Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Department of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry completed 2,901 audit transactions and analysis of financial data during the first three months of this year, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to recent official data issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Department, which monitors and supervises money exchange bureaus, gold companies, and real estate companies, completed 1,756 transactions related to real estate companies, and 964 special transactions in gold and jewelry companies and shops, and 181 transactions related to companies and exchange bureaus, during the first quarter of this year.

March accounted for 36.5 percent of the total transactions, recording the highest completion rate during the first quarter with 1,060 transactions. January recorded the second highest transaction rate by 32 percent, with 926 transactions, followed by February with 915 transactions.
