KUWAIT CITY, Jan 23: Officials from the Food and Markets Inspection Unit affiliated to Municipal Services Investigation and Follow-up Department at the Capital Municipality recently destroyed 2,810 tons of foodstuffs, reports Al-Seyassah daily.Director of the sector Eman Al-Kandari revealed that officials embarked on an impromptu inspection campaign in restaurants and café joints of a shopping mall in Rai- Shuwaikh, which resulted in the destruction of 2,810 tons of spoilt food. Officials also shut down a restaurant and a café joint, and issued four citations.The citations were issued because the violators were operating shops without health license from the Municipality, and displaying low-quality and expired food for sale. All confiscated items have been destroyed
