Boys’ schools witness highest number of cases

KUWAIT CITY, April 28: Annual report of the Department of Social and Psychological Services in the Ministry of Education indicates 21,805 incidents of verbal and physical attack against teachers and students were recorded in public schools across the country in academic year 2016/2017, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The report affirmed the unruly action was carried out by male and female students at various levels of education. The schools witnessed 2,338 physical and verbal attacks by male and female students on teachers at various levels of education. Among them, 1,298 happened in girls’ schools and 1,040 in boys’ schools.

Physical attacks covered 167 of the incidents while the larger share of 2,171 cases was verbal attacks. With regard to physical and verbal attacks against colleagues, it recorded 19,467 of such incidents among students at all levels of education.

Physical attacks covered 8,465 of the total 11,002 cases, wherein boys’ schools recorded the highest number of 10,090 cases, and the remaining 9,377 cases happened in girls’ schools
