KUWAIT CITY, Sept 20: A Kuwaiti and a Bedoun have been arrested for using a drone to smuggle drugs into the Central Prison. In a press statement, the General Department of Public Relations and Media Security explained that officers from General Investigations Department and General Department for Criminal Evidences succeeded in arresting two individuals who had used the drone which was confiscated earlier this week for smuggling drugs into Central Prison.

The General Department for Criminal Evidences found the DNA of the first suspect on the drone, using which he was identified. Further investigations resulted in identifying the second suspect. Both, when questioned, confessed that they used the drone to smuggle drugs into the Central Prison.

The second suspect was tasked with purchasing the drone and controlling its movement into the Central Prison using a remote control, and the first suspect arranged for 300 grams of ‘Chemical’ drug and methamphetamine and attached them to the drone.

The two suspects have been referred to the concerned authorities where necessary legal action was taken against them while legal steps will be taken against the inmate who was supposed to receive the drugs.
