16,848 files without valid civil addresses suspended including 22,863 permits with 61,688 workers

KUWAIT CITY, March 23 The Public Authority for Manpower has suspended 16,848 files without valid civil addresses, including 22,863 permits on which 61,688 workers with residency in the country have been registered. The suspension was made based on the directives of the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Acting Minister of Defense Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to tighten control over violators of labor law in the private sector.

The state is regulating demographics according to Law No. 74 of 2020 and its executive regulations issued by Decree No. 38 of 2023.

Employers of violating files have been given a period of one month from the date of stopping those files to amend their legal status. If the legal status is not modified within the specified period, owners will be referred to competent investigation authorities.
