KUWAIT CITY, Sept 16: According to statistics issued by the General Department for Sentences Enforcement approximately 1,636 persons who have been sentenced in absentia are wanted by law, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily quoting senior officials from the department said all these people have been blacklisted and barred from travel.
Their information and other data has been relayed to all checkpoints and police patrols. Speaking to the daily, the source said 4,352 persons have got arrest warrants issued against them, including those who have been sentenced in absentia. The officials added, the department in cooperation with the other security authorities was successful in arresting 2,716 persons who were wanted by law, while the search for all those who are at large continues.
