13 horses to compete in 1,850-meter race

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 10: The Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber Racecourse will, on Tuesday, Feb 11, host the exhibition of the 15th horse race meeting at Farwaniya Equestrian Club. A total of 74 horses have been registered for various classes.

According to a press release, the most important of these classes is the fifth round Class 1 wherein 13 horses will compete in the 1,850-meter race to win the trophy presented by the club. The horses listed for this category include Medwakh, Zilzal, Taqil Al-Rai, Al-A’az, Kahilan, Hamam, Azizi, Al-Dhafar, Nibras, Al-Houm, Qadah, Sahoud and Shedad.

All eyes are focused on the hero Shedad from Al-Owayedh Stable to carry the day.

The next competition is the 1,400-meter race for Class 2 category, in which 20 horses will slug it out for the trophy. This will be followed by the first round of 1,050-meter race for class 4 category with nine horses in contention.

In the 1,600-meter race for class 2 category, 20 horses have registered. Round three of 2,400-meter race will witness 12 horses struggling to outwit each other. The 1,850-meter race for class 4 category has 20 horses to compete.
