KUWAIT CITY, May 7: The Fourth Joint Committee has launched a campaign against marginal workers at the market for second-hand vehicles (haraj) in Amghara area during which 15 workers were arrested.

Director of Jahra Municipality Thamer Al-Mutairi explained that the campaign was carried out at night during the curfew, and 15 workers were found staying in the market.

Necessary medical action was taken to ensure they are not suffering from any disease. They will be referred to the concerned authorities, and the files of the companies under which they are registered will be blocked.

Meanwhile, Head of the Fourth Joint Committee Mohammad Al-Thafeeri declared that the campaign was held in unlicensed places in Amghara area, adding that seven workers registered under domestic worker visa and eight workers under Article 18 visa were arrested. He affirmed that their sponsors’ files will be closed until the workers are deported, and the places will be checked again to ensure they are practicing their work in a legal manner
