Cleaning workers seen shifting through the garbage

KUWAIT CITY, June 12: Capital Emergency Team affiliated to Kuwait Municipality in recent tour of the governorate arrested 13 cleaning workers for rummaging through garbage in violation of Ministerial Decision No. 190/2008.

Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality announced that campaign launched by the Capital Emergency Team will continue over an indeterminate period based on instructions from the Director General of Municipality to oblige the cleaning companies to conform to standards, and to abide by contracts signed with the Municipality.

Statement added the campaign, which starts from midnight and continues until 3 am is aimed at maintaining cleanliness in Yarmouk, Qortuba, Surra, Rawda and other areas. Head of the team, Zaid Al Anzi, declared that cleaning workers labors arrested during the campaign were referred to the concerned municipal authorities, and necessary action will be taken against them.
