KUWAIT CITY, June 6: Kuwait said 1,297 people tested positive for coronavirus while 1 related deaths were reported on Sunday, taking the total up to 317,197 and 1,795, respectively, according to the health ministry. Another 1,342 people were cured of the virus, raising the total of those to have overcome the disease to 301,137, ministry spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al- Sanad told a press conference. The number of people hospitalized with the virus currently stands at 14,265, with 153 of them in intensive care units, he added, revealing that some 10,011 swabs were conducted over the last day out of a total of 2.67 million. He went on to urge nationals and residents alike that abiding by health precautions, mainly, following social distancing rules, is the only way to halt the spread of the virus.
