12,000 housing units distributed last year

KUWAIT CITY, March 13: State Minister for Housing Affairs Yasser Aboul said South Al-Metla’a City will be the most beautiful housing cities in the country, particularly since the concerned bodies have taken into consideration all the comments on the previous and ongoing housing projects, reports Al-Qabas daily.

In an interview with the daily recently, Aboul disclosed the directives of the political leadership, represented by HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, as well as coordination between the executive and legislative authorities, have greatly contributed to the effective handling of the housing issue as clearly manifested in the distribution of 12,000 housing units last year. He pointed out this is, by far, the biggest number of housing units distributed in the history of Kuwait.

He said the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) has started distributing houses in new residential cities, including South Al-Metla’a and South Al-Abdullah cities. He pointed out that as per the development plan, these projects will lead to the distribution of 60,000 residential units within five years. He affirmed the signing of the first batch of contracts with global a number of companies in the coming weeks signals the beginning of infrastructure works in Al-Metla’a Residential City. He attributed this achievement to the National Assembly’s enactment of law on lifting prior censorship on the housing projects of PAHW for five years, asserting this step has reduced bureaucracy by 30 percent.
