12 kg tumor removed in rare woman surgery

KUWAIT CITY, March 11: A medical team of Maternity Hospital successfully carried out a rare surgery on a 31-year Filipina woman and removed a tumor weighing 12 kilograms from her abdomen, reports Al-Qabas daily.

This surgery was held under the supervision of the Head of Women and Maternity Section in the Maternity Hospital and Professor of Faculty of Medicine in Kuwait University Dr Waleed Al-Jassar. He explained that the patient was a 31-year old Filipina woman who was admitted in the hospital because of a huge deformity in her abdominal area.

The medical team examined her to discover the deformity was caused by a huge tumor in her abdomen which extended to her chest. They examined the tumor to discover it is benign. The tumor was successfully removed by the team.
