109 arrested, 13 vehicles seized in security sweep; 4 police impersonators held

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 3: Capital security officers continued their security crackdowns in compliance with the instruction of Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs in the Interior Ministry Major General Abdul Fattah Al-Ali. The officers recovered a stolen car, arrested 33 expatriates who violated the Residency Law, 25 people wanted by law for involvement in various crimes, 17 peddlers and 30 marginalized workers. It has been reported the security campaigns, which continued for 48 hours, also led to the confiscation of 13 vehicles, issuance of 60 traffic citations and arrest of four people wanted by law for involvement in financial cases.

4 police impersonators held: Four unidentified individuals were arrested for impersonating police and robbing 12 Asians, reports Al-Shahed daily. The four suspects, who are wanted by law, had raided the residence of the 12 victims and robbed them. Investigations conducted by Ahmadi securitymen led to the arrest of the four suspects in possession of sharp objects and a stun gun. The victims recognized the suspects in legal lineups.

Diwaniya for ex-army men: Ministry of Interior has approved to establish a diwaniya for officers and retired military personnel in the Ministry of Interior building for facilitating regular visits and exchange of greetings among the current and retired military officials, reports Al- Shahed daily. The decision was taken in appreciation for the role played by the retired employees of the ministry in serving the country. The idea has won the consent and admiration of Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al- Khalid, who gave the instructions to start the establishment of the diwaniya.

Dept head humiliated: The manager of a school humiliated the head of the maintenance department of an educational zone, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting informed sources. They said the school manager sent many official requests to the Maintenance Department for repairing the air conditioners in the school but did not receive any response. While speaking with the head of that department, she became furious and humiliated him by saying, “Damn you, your father and the person who appointed you in this position”.
