KUWAIT CITY, March 23: Security sources told Al-Jarida daily that 1,080 prisoners benefited from the Amiri Amnesty on the occasion of the 61st National Day. The sources indicated that the decree will drop the fines and bonds from 530 prisoners, while 200 will be released immediately, including 70 citizens and 130 expatriates.
The sources added that the decree includes reducing the freedom restricting penalties imposed on 350 prisoners and indicated that the implementation of the amnesty decree will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, when the persons covered by the amnesty will be immediately released, while the ‘pardoned’ foreigners will be immediately deported to their respective countries.
