1,000 Driving licenses of expats withdrawn in last 40 days

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 17: The General Traffic Department withdrew about 1,000 driving licenses in 40 days of expats who violated driving license issuance rules. ie 23 driving licenses per day. The driving license of expats has been withdrawn if specific conditions to obtain a license were not met such as either salary, university degree, profession. 

Currently all the files of expats are being reviewed on the instructions of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled, reports Al Rai. The traffic department patrol teams have been given a green light to arrest those expats who have been driving after their license has been withdrawn and refer them to deportation for violating country law. As a rule an expat cannot drive a vehicle in Kuwait without a driving license and not entitled to drive with a revoked driving license.
