10 kg marijuana seized; Gun, knife, radio set with Imam

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 31: Inspectors of the Air Cargo Unit led by Muhammad Al-Humaidhi foiled an attempt by a citizen born in 1988 to smuggle 10 kilograms of marijuana. A security source said Al-Humaidhi suspected a package of infant food and checked it thoroughly and found 10 kilograms of marijuana carefully hidden inside the box, which the citizen was expecting from an unnamed Asian country. He was arrested upon delivery of the package and referred with the contraband to Drug Prosecution under the supervision of head of the search and investigation unit Rashed Al-Baraka.

Gun, knife with ‘imam’: A Kuwaiti imam of a mosque was arrested at Nuwaiseeb border checkpoint in possession of a gun, a knife, some bullets and a radio set. According to security sources, customs officers at Nuwaiseeb border checkpoint was checking the luggage of an imam who was returning to the country via Nuwaiseeb border when they discovered a gun, a knife, some bullets and a radio set. He was arrested and referred with the confiscated items to the concerned authorities.

Meanwhile, an army pilot has been dismissed from his work after a case was filed against him for making offensive remarks about the Amiri entity. According to military sources, the pilot was dismissed because his bad behavior against the public interest was not considered befitting an officer of the Kuwait Army
