Zubaid breaks record as Kuwait continues success at Arab Aquatics Championships

CAIRO, Aug 27, (KUNA):  Kuwait's national swimming team delivered another impressive performance, on the second day of the Arab Aquatics competition in Cairo. The team added six medals to their tally, bringing Kuwait’s total to 14 medals. Mohammad Zubaid continued his standout performance, securing his third gold medal of the tournament in the 50-meter freestyle for the 15-16 age groups. He set a new Arab record with a time of 26.60 seconds, according to delegation Chief Faisal Abualhassan.

Kuwait’s Khaled Al-Otaibi, Saud Al-Enzi, and Abdullah Sultan also contributed to the medal haul, each winning bronze medals in their respective events. In the relay events, Kuwait excelled once again, clinching a silver medal in the 4x100 meter freestyle relay for the 13-14 age groups. The relay team, consisting of Hassan Zaid, Humoud Al-Humoud, Meshary Al-Haqan, and Abdullah Sultan, completed the race in 3:50.73 minutes. The competition features separate categories for boys and girls across the 13-18 age group and includes athletes from 17 Arab countries.
