KUWAIT CITY, Oct 29: Zain has been honored by the Kuwait Olympic Committee in recognition of its role as the official partner of Team Kuwait at the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, held recently in Japan.
The recognition celebrates Zain’s continued support for Kuwaiti athletes on one of Asia’s biggest sporting stages and was presented during a special ceremony celebrating the national delegation’s remarkable achievements, which saw Kuwaiti athletes secure nine medals and bring pride to the nation.
The ceremony was held at the Kuwait Olympic Committee’s headquarters and attended by Committee Vice President Sheikh Mubarak Faisal Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Zain Kuwait’s Community Partnerships and Youth Empowerment Team Leader Faisal Al-Duwaihees, who accepted the recognition on behalf of Zain, along with officials, sports personalities, and the honored athletes.
The recognition reflects Zain’s longstanding strategic partnership with the Kuwait Olympic Committee and its commitment to standing behind Kuwait’s athletes as they pursue their ambitions on regional and international stages. It also highlights the role of private sector organizations in supporting national sports and helping nurture future generations of champions.
Zain expressed its pride in the outstanding achievements of Kuwait’s athletes throughout the Games, which saw 120 men and women represent the nation across 16 sports. The Kuwaiti delegation brought home nine medals, including four gold, one silver, and four bronze, adding another proud chapter to Kuwait’s sporting achievements on the Asian stage.
Zain commended the determination, perseverance, and competitive spirit demonstrated by Kuwait’s athletes throughout the Games, emphasizing that their achievements reflect the wealth of sporting talent and potential in the country.
The company also expressed its appreciation to the Kuwait Olympic Committee, national sports federations, and technical and administrative teams for their dedication to preparing and supporting the athletes throughout their journey.
In September, Zain announced the continuation of its longstanding strategic partnership with the Kuwait Olympic Committee, becoming the official partner of Kuwait’s delegation to three major international sporting events. The partnership kicked off with Zain joining athletes and delegation officials at Kuwait International Airport ahead of their departure to Japan, sharing in the excitement and pride as they set off to represent their country and carry the aspirations of an entire nation onto the Asian stage.
The partnership extends beyond the Asian Games in Japan to support Kuwait’s participation in the fourth Summer Youth Olympic Games, Dakar 2026, in Senegal, and the sixth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, Riyadh 2026, in Saudi Arabia, alongside several other international sporting events. This builds on a history of collaboration between Zain and the Kuwait Olympic Committee, including the company’s support for Kuwait’s delegation to the 19th Asian Games, Hangzhou 2023, in China.
Zain continues to strengthen its role as an active partner in Kuwait’s sporting landscape through longstanding partnerships and initiatives that place young people and national talent at the heart of its community priorities.
The company remains committed to creating more opportunities for athletes to develop their abilities and achieve their ambitions, believing that sports go beyond competing for titles to inspire future generations and instill the values of ambition, perseverance, teamwork, and national pride.
This commitment reflects Zain’s purpose, “Better Lives. Lasting Connections.”, by building meaningful and lasting connections with communities and institutions, empowering national talent, and helping showcase Kuwaiti sporting excellence on regional and international stages. Through these efforts, Zain remains dedicated to standing alongside Kuwait’s champions as they pursue greater achievements and new milestones.
