KUWAIT CITY, Feb 10: The Zain Premier League championship is set to resume today following a 33-day break attributed to the preliminary rounds, quarter-finals, and semi-finals of the Amir Cup, along with the Asian Cup and the African Cup of Nations.

Commencing this evening, the fifteenth round of the league will feature a solitary match between Al-Nasr and Al-Fahaheel at Ali Sabah Al-Salem Stadium at 6:00 pm.The tour continues tomorrow with two matches; the first sees Al-Salmiya face off against Al-Shabab at Thamer Stadium at 4:45 pm, followed by a clash between Al-Arabi and Al-Jahra at Sabah Al-Salem Stadium at 7:25 pm.

Concluding the round the day after tomorrow, Kazma takes on Khaitan at the Friendship and Peace Stadium at 4:45 pm, with the pinnacle being a match between Kuwait Club and Al-Qadisiya at Sabah Al-Salem Stadium at 7:25 pm.

Kuwait Club leads the standings with 33 points, closely followed by Al-Arabi II, and Al-Qadisiya holds third place with 32 points. The remaining positions are occupied by Al-Nasr (21 points), Al-Salmiya (20 points), Kazma (17 points), Al-Fahaheel (15 points), Al-Shabab (14 points), Khaitan (7 points), and Al-Jahra at the bottom with only 2 points.

Al-Kuwait, Al-Arabi, and Al-Qadisiya have secured spots in the championship league, known as the “League of Six,” leaving Al-Fahaheel in seventh place (15 points) unable to catch up. Intense competition ensues for the remaining three seats among Al-Nasr (21 points), Al-Salmiya (20 points), Kazma (17 points), Al-Fahaheel (15 points), and Al-Shabab (14 points). Khaitan faces a challenging situation and is nearing Al-Jahra, leading them to compete in the “Avoid Relegation” League.

In today’s match, Al-Nasr aims to redeem itself after an early exit from the Amir Cup at the hands of Al-Arabi in the quarter-finals, seeking victory to regain its standing. Conversely, Al-Fahaheel strives for the same goal, aiming to compensate for its Amir Cup exit against Al-Qadisiya and assert its superiority over “Al-Annabi.
