Al Kuwait players celebrate at the end of a match.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 19: The Zain Premier League makes a comeback after a two-week hiatus, featuring two exciting matches.

In the first encounter, Al-Kuwait will face off against Khaitan at Al-Kuwait’s home stadium at 5:40 pm. Simultaneously, the second match will unfold at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, where Al-Arabi and Al-Fahaheel will compete at 8:30 pm.

The action continues tomorrow with a pair of matches. The first match, scheduled for 5:40 pm at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, pits Kazma against Al-Shabab. Later, at 8:30 pm, Al-Salmiya will take on Al-Jahra at Thamer Stadium.

The tour will conclude next Sunday with a single match between Al-Qadsia and Al-Nasr.

At the moment, Al-Kuwait lead the league standings with 12 points, closely pursued by traditional rivals Al-Arabi and Al-Qadsia, both with 7 points. Al-Nasr and Kazma share fourth place with 7 points each, while Khaitan hold 4 points, Al-Salmiya with 3 points, Al-Fahaheel and Al-Shabab at 2 points apiece, and Al-Jahra is currently at the bottom of the standings with just one point.

Al-Abyad aim to maintain their excellent form and secure their fifth consecutive victory, propelling them further toward a potential championship.

This evening’s clash serves as the team’s final preparation before their upcoming showdown with the Syrian Al-Ahly Aleppo Union next Tuesday in the third round of the AFC Cup. Conversely, Khaitan aspire to recapture the success they achieved in the initial rounds, following a draw and a win, prior to two consecutive losses in the third and fourth rounds against Al-Arabi (4-0) and Al-Nasr (2-0).

In the second match, Al-Arabi seek to return to the winning column after a recent draw against Al-Qadsia in the previous round (1-1). A victory today would significantly boost the team’s confidence ahead of their upcoming AFC Cup clash against Bahrain’s Riffa next Monday.

Meanwhile, Al-Fahaheel are determined to put past disappointments behind them and hopes to secure their first victory in the competition.

Kazma vying for their third consecutive victory, while Al-Shabab are in pursuit of their first win. In the other match, Al-Salmiya aim to erase the memory of two consecutive defeats in the last rounds as they go up against Al-Jahra, who managed to secure their first point in the last round with a 0-0 draw against Al-Fahaheel.
