KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: Zain Kuwait’s main sponsorship of the 22nd Asian Men’s Handball Championship (Road to Germany), which Kuwait is hosting until 29 January at Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Halls Complex, sees the participation of 15 teams as part of the qualifiers for the 2027 IHF Men’s World Championship in Germany.
The step reflects Zain’s continued approach to supporting major regional tournaments hosted in Kuwait, showcasing the country’s organizational excellence and strong sporting presence at both the local and continental levels. Within an ongoing strategic partnership with the Kuwait Handball Association, Zain previously sponsored the 10th Arab Handball Cup, hosted in Kuwait last year, in an edition that saw strong public engagement and distinguished organization.
During the Kuwait Handball National Team’s preliminary round match against Hong Kong, Corporate Relations & Communications Director, Hamad Al-Musaibeeh, honored star player Haider Dashti with the Match MVP award, in a gesture that reflects Zain’s appreciation of standout performances and its ongoing support for the game’s champions, as part of its commitment to celebrating the achievements of the national team’s players.
Zain’s support for the championship aligns with its vision to empower young athletes, spotlight national talent, and reinforce a culture of fair competition within a healthy sporting environment that positively impacts the community. It also contributes to strengthening Kuwait’s position as a dynamic regional sports hub through hosting tournaments at a continental level.
The national team has made a strong start by winning its first three preliminary round matches, advancing to the main stages with a perfect record. This reflects the strong fan base behind Kuwaiti handball and its promising talent, as Zain calls on fans to continue supporting Al-Azraq throughout the upcoming stages of the tournament.
Zain’s partnership with the Kuwait Handball Association to be a part of this continental sporting event hosted on Kuwaiti soil contributes to highlighting the country’s organizational and sporting capabilities, offering fans a rich competitive experience both on and off the field.
