He added: “We are proud of the recent achievements of Kuwait’s national padel teams at the Gulf Cup, including the women’s and juniors’ championship titles and the men’s third place. These results confirm that investing in this sport is paying off and raising Kuwait’s profile on regional and international stages.”
During the conference, Abdulrahman Al-Musabahi said, “Padel is among the fastest-growing sports in Kuwait and the region, and its audience is largely youth.
That is why we were keen to build a competitive platform that offers our players a professional experience. We look forward to working with our partners, foremost Zain, to create a professional and well-organized environment that ensures the sport’s sustainability and success locally and regionally.”
The tournament aims to cement padel’s status in Kuwait, empower young athletic talent, and give players the chance to compete through a comprehensive schedule. It also offers a professional experience that helps athletes elevate their performance and hone their skills, responding to the sport’s growing popularity among youth.
Competitions in the Zain Edition will run for 10 days across three main categories: Under-16, Men’s Open, and Women’s Open. Participation is open to all players from GCC countries, with valuable prizes allocated for each category.
Zain’s sponsorship of this distinguished sporting event reflects the company’s commitment to supporting emerging sports such as padel and its keenness to be part of initiatives that enable athletes to showcase their talents and shine on international stages.
This step continues Zain’s ongoing support for padel, which has become one of the most popular sports among youth in Kuwait and across the region. Over recent years, the company has supported major local and regional tournaments and organized in-house events for its employees to promote an active lifestyle and a culture of physical well-being.
