Youth soccer takes center stage as the Aura U-20 League concludes

KUWAIT CITY, July 22: The inaugural season of the Aura U-20 League concluded at Alshaya Tower, with several sports officials and representatives of the Kuwait Football Association and the Alshaya Group in attendance.

Present at the event were Vice President for Technical Affairs at the Kuwait Football Association, Ayman Al-Husseini, Secretary General of the association, Dr. Saleh Al-Majroub, representative of Alshaya Group, Hamoud Al-Shaya, several officials, and football enthusiasts.

Speaking at the event, Al-Husseini expressed his happiness over the success of the first edition of the Aura U-20 League.  He praised the high level of play demonstrated by the participating teams and the competitive spirit that reflected the development of Kuwaiti football and the commitment of the clubs to support youth development.

He commended the vital role played by the Alshaya Group in supporting Kuwaiti sports.  He asserted that this initiative is an important model of partnership between the private and sports sectors, thereby stimulating the environment for discovering talent.

On the other hand, Alshaya affirmed that he is happy to attend the closing ceremony of the inaugural Aura U-20 League.

He stated that the sponsorship is in line with the commitment of the group to support Kuwaiti youths, develop sporting talent, and invest in the future of Kuwaiti football.  He pointed out that honoring the players is a confirmation of the presence of a promising generation that will be a vital source of talent for the national team and will realize the sporting aspirations of the country in the coming years.

He added that the Aura Rewards program extends beyond sponsorship, as it aims to be a partner in supporting the community, celebrating national talent, and instilling the values of ambition, discipline, and teamwork among the youth.

The closing ceremony included the awarding of the winning teams.  Al-Qadsiya Club emerged as the champion, Kazma Club secured second place, and Al-Sahel Club finished in third place.

Several players who excelled in various rounds of the tournament were also honored.  Youssef Sabah obtained the Player of the Week Award for Match Day 7, Abdullah Al-Qarzi for Match Day 8, Waleed Jalal for Match Day 9, Fawaz Al-Dawood for Match Day 10, and Bandar Al-Azmi for Match Day 11.

Kuwait Sports Club player Bandar Al-Azmi won the Top Scorer Award, Al-Sahel goalkeeper Suleiman Al-Masri received the Best Goalkeeper Award, and Al-Arabi Sports Club player Abdullah Al-Qarzi was declared the Most Valuable Player.

The Technical Committee at the Kuwait Football Association, responsible for selecting the best players throughout the tournament, was also honored, along with the Media Committee, for its role in covering and ensuring the success of the league.
