KUWAIT CITY, July 25: Yarmouk Club has retained coach Khaled Al-Mutairi as head coach of its first volleyball team for the upcoming season, continuing its policy of maintaining stability within the technical staff.

The new season is set to begin in early September as the club resumes the 2025-26 campaign, with Al-Mutairi tasked with leading the team through the remaining competitions.

Al-Mutairi expressed his appreciation for the board’s confidence, saying the decision gives him added motivation to continue working hard and deliver a season that meets the club’s expectations. He praised the administration’s support and efforts to provide the necessary resources to help the team develop and compete strongly in local tournaments.

The coach confirmed that Cameroonian professional Ibrahim Adam has renewed his contract for a second successive season, while his compatriot Aba Mohammed has also joined the squad as part of Yarmouk’s preparations. He added that the club is close to finalizing agreements with three local players to further strengthen the team ahead of the new campaign.

Al-Mutairi said the team began its preparations earlier this month, with the training program focused on improving fitness levels and preparing players technically and physically for the First Division League, aiming to achieve positive results.

Meanwhile, the Kuwait Volleyball Association announced that the suspended season, which was halted in March due to regional circumstances, will resume in September. The association has also formed its committees for the 2026-27 season, appointing Aref Al-Subaihi as chairman of the Competitions Committee, Adel Bounashi as head of the Referees Committee, and Dr. Abdullah Taleb as chairman of the Beach Volleyball Committee.
