LOS ANGELES, Nov 1, (Agencies): Prince, the son of the late pop star Aaron Carter, has taken legal action by filing a lawsuit against doctors and pharmacies for the wrongful death of his father. Melanie Martin, Aaron Carter’s former fiancée, initiated the lawsuit on behalf of their 23-month-old son. The legal action alleges that medical professionals prescribed hydrocodone, oxycodone, and alprazolam to the singer without valid medical reasons, according to legal documents. Furthermore, the lawsuit asserts that both doctors and pharmacies, including Walgreens, were aware of Carter’s mental health and psychiatric condition but still provided him with inconsistent quantities of the medication, ultimately contributing to his death in November of the previous year.

Martin, who is seeking damages through the lawsuit, declined to comment on the matter. Aaron Carter, known for hits like “I Want Candy,” was discovered in his bathtub at his California residence at the time of his passing. He tragically died just weeks before his son Prince’s first birthday.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s report in April, Aaron Carter’s cause of death was accidental drowning, which occurred after he inhaled difluoroethane and took alprazolam on Nov 5, 2022, at the age of 34. At the time, Martin expressed her dissatisfaction with the official cause of death, pointing out inconsistencies, such as the fact that he was found wearing clothing and a necklace in the bathtub. She continued to grieve his loss, struggling to make sense of the chain of events surrounding his death.

The report suggested that Aaron may have fallen unconscious while in the bathtub as the drugs took effect, causing him to slip beneath the water’s surface and ultimately leading to his drowning. Difluoroethane, a gas commonly found in compressed air cans, is known for its potential recreational use when inhaled, while alprazolam is the generic form of the brand-name medication Xanax.

Recently, Aaron Carter’s twin sister, Angel Carter, shared a post on Instagram, unveiling the memorial site established in her brother’s honor almost a year after his passing. She encouraged fans to visit the location, emphasizing how much it would have meant to Aaron to have a final resting place where his life could be celebrated. Angel also disclosed that Aaron’s ashes had been laid to rest in July, describing the process of coping with his loss as an “out-of-body experience.” She revealed that she had kept his ashes at her home before his memorial service.
