The Muslim faithful headed for the mosques in hunt for the ‘Laylat Al-Qadr’ or the ‘Night of Power’ throughout Kuwait on the 27th of Ramadan night. Laylat Al-Qadr is the holiest night in Islam, marking when the Holy Qur’an was first revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
KUWAIT CITY, March 16: Mosques in Kuwait observed the 27th night within the last 10 days of Ramadan in an atmosphere of deep faith, reverence and tranquility. Tens of thousands of worshippers flocked to the mosques to observe this blessed night, which Muslims hope is Laylat Al-Qadr (the Night of Decree) – the night the Holy Quran was revealed and which Almighty Allah described as being better than a thousand months. From the early hours of the night, worshippers began arriving at mosques throughout the country to perform the Qiyam prayer.
The mosques were filled with worshippers who stood in tightly packed rows, a scene of profound devotion reflecting their deep connection to religious rituals and their determination to seize the blessings of the last 10 days of the holy month. The worshippers humbly and devoutly recited the supplication narrated from the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) for Laylat Al- Qadr: “O Allah, You are forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive us.”
They asked the Almighty to accept their good deeds and to make this night a night of forgiveness, mercy and deliverance from Hellfire. Following the guidance of the purified Sunnah of the Prophet, the worshippers gathered for recitation, remembrance and supplication, hoping to attain the great reward that Allah has bestowed upon this blessed night, when angels descend and goodness and blessings abound until dawn.
The prayers were held in an atmosphere of tranquility and peace as the worshippers raised their hands in supplication, asking Allah to protect Kuwait and its people from all harm and to perpetuate the blessings of security, stability and prosperity upon them in view of the current circumstances in the region. The imams emphasized the importance of adhering to Islamic values, striving to strengthen the spirit of love and unity among members of society, avoiding rumors, and exercising wisdom and responsibility. They affirmed that the true Islamic faith calls for moderation and balance, and that the month of Ramadan is a great opportunity to reinforce noble human values, such as patience, generosity and social solidarity.
They underscored the importance of these blessed days in getting closer to the Almighty through acts of obedience and worship and to strive to instill the values of mercy, tolerance and cooperation among members of society, thereby, contributing to strengthening social cohesion and reinforcing the values of brotherhood and love.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs mobilized all its resources to welcome worshippers on this blessed night. It provides various services to the worshippers, hence, creating a suitable atmosphere for performing acts of worship in comfort and tranquility. The 27th night of Ramadan is a spiritual milestone awaited by Muslims every year, as they are keen to observe it through prayer, remembrance of Allah, recitation of the Holy Quran and supplication, wishing for its immense blessings and the glad tidings of mercy, forgiveness and deliverance from Hellfire.
