World handball giants await the Club Championship draw in Egypt

CAIRO, July 21: The draw for the 19th Men’s IHF Handball Club World Championship will take place today, Wednesday, with teams set to discover their group-stage opponents.

The International Handball Federation (IHF) confirmed that the ceremony will be broadcast live on its official YouTube channel, giving supporters the chance to follow the group allocation process in real time.

Ahead of the draw, the IHF has revealed the seeding pots and rankings of the participating clubs, which will determine the road ahead for the teams in the prestigious tournament.

The championship will be hosted in Cairo, Egypt, from September 24 to October 1.

The 10 participating clubs are Al Ahly (Egypt) as hosts, Barcelona (Spain) as European champions, Burqan (Kuwait) as Asian champions, Montada (Morocco) representing Africa, Füchse Berlin (Germany) as Europe’s representative, EC Pinheiros (Brazil) representing South and Central America, San Diego (USA) representing North America and the Caribbean, Sydney Uni (Australia) representing Oceania, Veszprém (Hungary) via invitation, and Zamalek (Egypt) via a wild card.

Meanwhile, the Bahrain Handball Association has confirmed that Manama will host the 42nd Gulf Clubs Handball Cup Winners’ Championship from November 19-28, with leading Gulf clubs set to take part.
