World cup in Qatar will be the greatest

DOHA, March 31: FIFA Chairman Gianni Infanito on Thursday said the World Cup (FIFA Qatar 2022) would be the greatest global tournament in the history records. Speaking at inauguration of the 72nd general assembly of the federation (the FIFA congress), Infanito said he was looking forward to see a wonderful cup games following recession of the coronavirus pandemic. Work that needed decades of time has been accomplished by Qatar in a few years, he said, alluding to Doha’s successful preparations for the global athletic event.

FIFA Qatar 2022 will be an opportunity for the Arab world to present itself to the world and also a chance for the globe to get acquainted with the Arab world, Infanito added. He expressed his belief that the tournament would be the greatest on record, thanking the State of Qatar, the Olympic Committee and the Qatari football federation for hosting the FIFA congress and holding draws for the world cup finals. The congress was held a day before holding draws of the cup, to be hosted by Qatar November 21-December 18 (KUNA)
