KUWAIT CITY, Nov 16: The Director General of Civil Aviation, Sheikh/Eng. Hamoud Mubarak Al-Hamoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, announced that Kuwait has achieved exceptional results in a recent comprehensive safety audit conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The assessment, carried out from November 4 to 16, 2025, was part of ICAO’s Universal Safety Oversight Audit Program (USOAP-CMA), which evaluates aviation safety systems worldwide.
A team of seven ICAO experts conducted an extensive review covering legislative, regulatory, technical, and operational components of Kuwait’s civil aviation sector. According to Sheikh Hamoud, Kuwait not only passed the audit with distinction but also achieved results that surpassed both global and regional averages—marking the highest score in the country’s aviation history.
He affirmed that the achievement reflects Kuwait’s strong commitment to maintaining world-class safety and quality standards in the aviation sector, especially as the country prepares to inaugurate the new Terminal 2 at Kuwait International Airport.
Sheikh Hamoud extended his congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamid Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and the Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, emphasising that the success would not have been possible without the leadership’s support and guidance.
He also expressed his appreciation to all civil aviation staff and cooperating government agencies whose dedicated efforts contributed to achieving these distinguished and record-breaking results.
