KUWAIT CITY, Aug 20: The Ministry of Interior has opened an investigation into a complaint filed by a senior government official who accused an employee of insulting him and attempting to assault him inside his office during working hours.
According to a security source, a director general at a government agency reported that a supervisor from the same department entered his office after being summoned to discuss a work-related matter. The meeting reportedly escalated into a heated exchange, during which the supervisor allegedly directed inappropriate insults at the director general and attempted to physically assault him.
Several employees who were present at the workplace intervened and prevented the situation from developing further, the source said. The complainant stated that the incident occurred in front of witnesses and caused him physical harm.
The director general has refused any settlement or internal handling of the matter by his employer, insisting instead on pursuing legal action against the accused employee.
Security personnel later summoned the supervisor for questioning. He denied insulting or abusing the director general and said the discussion did not involve any offensive language or any attempt.
Authorities are continuing their investigation by taking statements from both parties and gathering testimony from witnesses to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
