Ministry of Social Affairs

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 17: The Ministry of Social Affairs has initiated preparations for its annual employee performance evaluations. The ministry’s General Department for Financial and Administrative Affairs has begun preparing to conduct annual performance evaluations of its employees in all its sectors. By January, the ministry will gain access to the Civil Service Commission’s automated system to complete attendance and departure assessments. The sources affirmed that the evaluation results determine the disbursement of outstanding performance bonuses for employees rated “Excellent” and eligibility for promotions by selection, which are conducted according to the regulations of CSC.

This process includes screening eligible candidates, verifying procedural integrity, and confirming employee eligibility, and is carried out automatically. According to internal sources, the ministry will adhere to the rules, criteria, procedures, and deadlines of the Civil Service Commission (CSC). Evaluations will allocate 70 percent to job performance, handled by the ministry, and 30 percent to attendance and departure verification through fingerprint records, as managed by CSC.

Employee scores will be calculated based on a percentage system as follows: - Weak: 54 percent and below - Good: 55 to 74 percent - Very Good: 75 to 89 percent - Excellent: 90 percent and above The final evaluation for each employee is calculated based on five important categories, which are:

1. Individual performance factors
2. Group performance factors
3. Personal capabilities
4. Evaluation of supervisory staff competence
5. Adherence to official working hours
