KUWAIT CITY, Feb 13: The Court of Appeals has canceled the verdict issued by the Court of First Instance which obligated a Kuwaiti woman to pay KD 150,000 to her ex-husband based on a debt declaration letter she had signed. In a lawsuit filed by the ex-husband, he demanded the woman to pay the abovementioned amount, which he said they had borrowed together during their marriage, and since they are divorced due to their differences, she is liable to pay the money. The defense counsel Lawyer Yousef Zayed Al-Dalmani called for invalidation of the appeal and requested referral of the case to an expert to prove that his client had not received the money. He stressed that his client had agreed to sign the debt declaration letter based on her trust for her husband when they were married.
