Woman ‘molested’ – Royal’ apologises

KUWAIT CITY, July 12: An unidentified member of Kuwait’s ruling family is said to have apologised publicly to a young Egyptian woman, reports Al-Rai daily. This happened when the Kuwaiti hit the woman on her sensitive private part in the lobby of the hotel. The woman then verbally abused the man and insisted on filing a complaint at the local police station. The woman stood her ground for two hours and following the involvement of security officials and the hotel management, the issue was solved amicably but the woman demanded an apology. The Egyptian tourist police refused to comment on reports of compensation being paid to the woman but only said the issue was solved amicably.

Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Ukraine has filed a complaint with the Attorney-General accusing some Twitter users and news services on Twitter and Instagram of diminishing his reputation, reports Al-Anba daily.

Workers demand pay: Scores of workers recently protested the non-payment of salaries for several months and refused to work, reports Al-Shahed daily. According to sources the men are reportedly working on a government project. Following police intervention, the company official rushed to the spot and promised to give the men their back pay. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor has taken formal procedures against the company for failing to pay the salaries.

Fight in mall: Four young Kuwaitis have been arrested and referred to the Nugra Police Station for picking on a compatriot who was overweight which led to a fist fight among them, reports Al-Shahed daily. The incident took place inside a commercial complex in Nugra.
