Woman arrested for shoplifting gold jewellery; Customs officers seize KD 6,000 from Indian passenger

KUWAIT CITY, June 4: An unidentified woman was arrested for shoplifting gold jewelry from a shop inside a commercial complex in Salhiya, reports Al-Shahed daily. The suspect took advantage of the presence of many customers in the shop and hid some gold jewelry in her bag.

However, she was spotted by the CCTV camera and the security guards of the complex immediately informed the police. Securitymen rushed to the location and arrested the woman in possession of the stolen gold. She was referred to Salhiya Police Station for necessary legal action.

Meanwhile, an Indian woman was arrested at Kuwait International Airport for attempting to smuggle KD 6,000 into the country, reports Al-Rai daily. According to sources, customs officers suspected the woman after noticing her nervousness. They checked her luggage and found the money hidden among her clothes. They insisted that she should have declared the money that was in her possession before undergoing inspection.

In the meantime, an unidentified individual assaulted a Pakistani salesman of a shop at a commercial complex in Jahra area, reports Al-Rai daily. According to security sources, a Kuwaiti woman bought a handbag from the shop and had returned few days to return the bag and get a refund.

However, when the salesman refused, she called her husband who arrived at the location and assaulted the salesman before driving away with his wife. The salesman lodged a complaint and provided police with the number plate of the husband’s vehicle. He also submitted a medical report to substantiate his claim.
